Chris Hartigan, FNP

Office Hours are Monday through Friday at Family Health Center - Columbia.
“Chris,” as he’s known by his patients, is a native of Missouri but has lived, studied and worked in such faraway places as Tokyo, London, and New York City.
Mr. Hartigan has been in practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner for nearly 15 years, with national board certification. Graduating as a Pierre Laclede Honors Scholar from UM-St. Louis, he first achieved a BA in history with Chemistry and Biology minors and an International Studies Certificate. Returning to school, he enrolled in the competitive “Accelerated Option” BSN program at SLU. Working as a board-certified Critical Care Nurse (CCRN), he pursued his graduate degree in nursing, obtaining the “Nurse Practitioner Traineeship Award.”
Serving as a dual National Health Service Corp and PRIMO scholar, Mr. Hartigan served in the rural Ozarks for 10 years, Co-founding the “Great Mines Health Center” in Potosi, Missouri. In 2006, he left the Ozarks to join the Family Health Center team in Columbia.
Mr. Hartigan has served on the boards of several health organizations and spoken for such groups as the Missouri Nurses Association, Missouri Area Health Education Center and the Boone County Partnership. He has served in various volunteer capacities in the community: as coach to his 3 sons; church youth leader; and as adjunct faculty instructor for Central Methodist University’s BSN program.
