Hawkey graduated from William Woods University with a Bachelor of Science in business management in 2001. After she graduated from University of Missouri–Kansas City in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene, she began her career in Kirksville, Mo., and has enjoyed working in public health ever since.
Working with outreach programs for dental education in schools and at health fairs and screenings, Hawkey is also involved in service education in skilled nursing facilities. She strives to educate her patients and the public about oral health care
